How to stay moisturized this fall with all natural ingredients: Part 1
We've been on a hot stretch of sunshine and high temps here in Charlotte but it seems like the seasons are finally starting to change. As temperatures begin to drop and the leaves fall from the trees, the air starts to dry out taking your skin with it! Luckily, with the right skin care routine, you can fight back this season with these tips.
A huge key to staying soft and moisturized is using a weekly scrub. Scrubbing/ exfoliating at least once a week is crucial because it removes your dead skin. When it comes to skincare, we recommend sticking to products that a free of mineral oils and parabens.
Look for all-natural and safe scrubs that contain ingredients you know. If you want to skip all of the store-bought scrubs, there are lots of great homemade scrub recipes out there! Try the oatmeal honey scrub that combines two parts oatmeal, one part honey, and one part almond, coconut, or olive oil.
Another hugely popular scrub right now is the coffee scrub. However, there can be all kinds of added chemicals in the ones you buy at the store. For an all-natural homemade coffee scrub combine 1/3 cup Epsom salt, 1 cup ground coffee, ½ cup brown sugar, and 1 cup coconut oil.
Store your scrubs in air tight jars; mason jars work very well. Make sure to use your scrub in the shower once a week and moisturize afterwards. Don’t forget to exfoliate before your spray tan for best results!
